clean and clear Feb 03, 2010 great price for my system protection. sound quality was actually improved with my yamaha with polk speakers. people notice the difference. great buy when on sale, almost bought a monster unit but found this on line for 1/3 the cost. led bars actually show your home power; didn't know my power from pnm spiked up/down daily.

Belkin PF31k (black) GREAT DEVICE!! Dec 01, 2009 Starting with the bottom line, THIS THING IS GREAT!! This is my first post online, ever that I remember about anything as a review to a component. Not that other components I own don't have merit, but as it took me a long time to make this decision (much too long as it turns out!) as I could not really find many reviews that I trusted and the costs of the units I thought might be worth it were out of range. Then along came the Belkin PF31 at a price of $109 and I snapped it up on a whim.
I am a would-be hobbyist with HT - would be if I had more time and money that is (system specs at bottom for anyone who cares). I have invested what I can almost afford after reading what I could find mainly on AVS forum. From the outset, my wife was dubious about my investment (financially and in time) in the system, but from the first time I booted it up she was sold and we have watched almost a move a night ever since - 3 years worth.
Anyhow, from the outset I had hat I call "video crawl". Thin horizontal bands of "color" crawling slowly up my screen. Almost no one noticed but ME (but hey, I am important too!), but it was there - almost nonexistent from some sources and more from others, worse at times than others. Tried a decent Belkin surge protector (paid $80 for it, regular computer type model) with no effect so thought it was not that. Tried the forums and had a bunch of advice but nothing I did worked. Thought it was the projector until I switched projectors and the issue was still there (another piece of advice for anyone happening to read this who has the Pani AE900 PJ and need a bulb replacement (around $400), try selling the old one on e-bay and buying the AX200 at half the original 900 price, brand new! WAY brighter and every bit as clean and between the sale of the old and would-be cost of bulb the upgrade cost me under $150!!
ANYHOW... I bought this little Belkin after looking at Monster and others, for three reasons: a. I only know the Belkin brand name because of surge protection, so it made sense to me they would know line conditioning. The price was in my range and had 3 levels of protection (whatever they do) as opposed to the single levels I had been looking at in the same price range; and, c. I could not find any negative reviews, though not too many anyhow none were bad. I installed it 3 days ago, and tried first with my X-Box playing a Netflix and it brought tears of joy to my eyes (literally, I am a bit emotional at times). THE LINES WERE GONE. I switched over to the Cable and unfortunately though the lines were mitigated, they were still there. Just for the heck of it (because I had read people's reviews who said it did not help or worsened their issue) I ran the coax. from the wall to the Belkin to the HD Cable box, fired it up and VIOALA - THE F'N LINES WERE GONE - 100%.
All I can say is I feel literally like I have a NEW SET. I am transfixed at the beauty of this system now. I was about to try to convince my lovely that we needed an up-grade to an HDMI switching receiver, but I no longer feel the pressing need (will still do when I can afford for other reasons, but the burning desire is gone).
PROS: THIS THING DOES IT'S JOB, EASILY SIMPY AND HAS MORE THAN ENOUGH PLUGS FOR MY SYSTEM, AND IT LOOKS GREAT!
CONS: NONE SO FAR.
BOTTOM LINE: SINGLE BEST INVESTMENT I HAVE MADE IN MY HOME THEATRE, EVER!
COMPARISONS: Have none - maybe they all do it - all I know is this one did.
SYSTEM SPECS: My system is in the living room, consists of a Panasonic AX200 projector, Pioneer vsx 1015 receiver (component switching with optical and RCA digital audio), Comcast HD cable, XBOX 360 (for streaming network media and Netflix only) and a new Panasonic BD60 Blue Ray with Focal Sib/Cub 5.1 surround speakers and a Draper 110" electro drop-down screen (great screen, but SHOULD HAVE SPRUNG FOR THE TAB TENTIONED MODEL - AS IMPORTANT AS THE PJ ESPECIALLY IN LOWER LIGHT AND WHITE SCENES WHEN "WRINKLES" ARE NOTICABLE!) - all self wired in wall and ceiling and setup. Was not extremely careful about keeping low voltage wires away from high when wiring, likely a part of my issues - didn't band them together just that they may have crossed here and there. Used highly shielded decent gauge low cost wires - at my level there is nothing better worth paying for, period - they are WIRES for goodness sake!

Price / Perfomance is a "high five!" Jan 16, 2009 Bought this product as an inexpensive filter / protection for the new LCD (Sony KDL40Z4100B).
Had the TV for a few days before the Belkin came in. Once the Belkin arrived I hooked it up and didn't mention anything to my son.
When he turned on the TV he called me and said "Dad the TV must be breaking in, the picture is getting better".
The colors were much more vivid and brighter, almost artificial they were so "there". Signal is 1080i via Motorola HD rx'er from COX cable fed to the TV through Canare 75 OHM RBG cables. Parts Express HDMI cables on the way.
Impressive for the power cleanup / price. In the process of running a dedicated 20 amp circuit for the A/V gear and will have ust this unit connected to it feeding all the A/V gear. We'll see what it does with an already good circuit / power.

Great Product for the Money Jan 09, 2009 I bought this unit after researching and looking at some of the higher brands, and I must say this line of power centers are fantastic.
Now I realize that some products are better then others as the components used in those products are higher quality, but we have gone thru multiple power surges and power outages since I have gotten it, and it has kept all of my home theater working perfectly.
I did not see the picture quality get better while using this (in fast when I ran the cable line thru it the quality got worse) but my picture was always good. However it did reduce the slight "white noise" I had in my sound system when I would flip channels.
I also love the sleek look it adds to my home theater components, much better then some of the other gaudier ones out there.
This is a great product to keep your home theater in great working order, and doesn't dent your wallet like some of the other brands out there.

Nice unit - worth the money Dec 31, 2008 I bought the Belkin PureAV a few months ago and I like it a lot. It has a high current input that is great for plugging in amps. I also liked the "switched" inputs. During an electrical storm the switched light turned off and stopped sending power to my components (which is what I wanted it to do).
One other very small feature I liked is that it came with tags (like TV, DVR, Receiver, etc.) that you can put on the cords of those components so that you can easily tell what cord belongs to what device. Comes in handy when you want to un-plug one and there's a mess of cords tangled up in the back of your audio/video rack.
The unit looks very nice and is well worth the price.
