I been using this for months, and like it very much. The locking function is very nice for when I have to use on computers I don't trust.

Awesome USB drive with Read Only switch Apr 19, 2011

This is a great little drive. Speed is good. Construction is solid (the cap seems to fit snugly and hasn't accidentally come off yet). And the RO switch on the side is great. It's great to be able to plug this into a PC, run some diagnostic tools, and not worry about the drive getting infected with some nasty piece of malware.
Overall, a great drive and worth the money. My only wish is that it would come with a keychain lanyard. It only comes with a standard lanyard that you put around your neck. But that's a small complaint about an otherwise great product.

This USB device is constructed of a nice aluminium case. The Write protect switch (which presence is the motivaiton i bought this USB device) is properly seated and protected and works well as opposed others i have used.
It seems to perform fast although i do not realy test this.
Verry content with this device (glad i ordered 2 ;-

I bought this USB flash drive for one specific reason: It has a write protect switch. I am certain that many a techie and non-techie user have had to deal with a virus infected flash drive because you stuck it in to an infected computer. (Flash drives are VERY promiscuous).
I just got fed up of having to clean/format my flash drives ever so often.
It is very nice and sleek with a red LED indicating read/write activity. Even comes with a black lanyard. Of course, the clear cap is easy to lose.
This flash drive is now my primary software kit. Copy all the software you need, then flick the switch to the "lock" position. No more nasties trying to get on.
Performance-wise, it is at least a bit faster than an 'ordinary' drive. I get 29.9MB/s seq. read and 17.9MB/s seq. write using Crystal DiskMark.
All I'd ask of Kanguru is to drop the price. I do not think a write protect switch warrants a full US$20 premium over any other ordinary flash drive. (-1 star)
I also wish more drive manufacturers would offer a write protect switch as an option on their USB flash drives.
Overall, I say get it if you can stand the price premium and can't stand flash drive viruses.
