5works in emac 1.42  Sep 19, 2007
By Brian Bean
I have been using this memory for a couple of months now - no problems - in case there is still any debate about 2GB RAM being supported in emac, the answer is yes (at least it is in this 1.42 superdrive model), 2GB RAM is recognized in the system profiler - received order in 3 business days - i purchased this RAM on July 12th, 2007 for $128.63 which i thought was a bargain - today, Sept. 19th, 2007, the price is $115.19 - if you don't have to have it right away, you might want to wait and see how much it goes down - i purchased mine directly from this page from Crucial Tech. - they are a well respected company that is known for standing behind it's products.

5Easy to Install  Oct 19, 2011
By locomac
I looked at other reviews for this product, which made me choose it. I have a Dell Dimension 3000 and 2500 that I am trying to get running for my kids. They each had 512M memories and ran slower than snail stuff. I got this upgrade kit, popped the cover on the 3000, removed the existing memory, installed the kit and was back up in 10 minutes. These worked great! All the problems with paging went away. In addition, I took the other memory and put it in the 2500 and it also improved in performance. I plan to get another kit for the 2500.

One word of caution. The processors in these are not particularly fast so the graphics are slower, but that is not why I bought this. Additional memory does not improve graphics speed.

5Good Buy  Feb 25, 2012

I am a pc technician and needed this crucial 2GB Kit for a friends old Dell pc that only had 256MB in it. Crucial seems to have the best compatibility for Dells. So far the pc is running better than ever with no BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) problems and no memory related errors. Thanks Amazon and crucial.

52 GB Kit  Jan 19, 2012

Not only did the new memory significantly improve performance of my older PC, but when I realized I ordered the wrong quantity, return of the extra RAM was very easy. Good product and good service!

5Upgrade Complete! XD  Jan 10, 2012
By KeraC
I have a Dell Dimension 3000 computer.
It is ancient and outdated.
It has more wires than I care to count.
But it works, and I have other portable gadgets, so I decided to upgrade rather than buy a new desktop.

This computer came with 512MB RAM (yeah, I don't know how i survived this long either) and I upgraded to the max of 2GB. Crucial's website (can't give such links here) has a free program (easily uninstalled once completed) that tells you your current RAM, your maximum upgrading capacity, and which of their DIMMS are compatible.
I did that and came to this product.

I was unfamiliar with Crucial's shipping successes, and had relatively good experiences with Amazon, so I ordered through this site.

The module was shipped in the time stated, and I received it boxed with original Crucial packaging. The modules looked new/"un-tampered with".
If you know HOW to access your DIMM slots, then placement is a snap DIY style.
I had backed up my files just in case something went wrong, but this was unnecessary, as upon rebooting, the computer immediately recognized the upgrade and went to work.

The system is definitely faster. I'm not a Tekkie, so I cannot give you a detailed status report. What I can say is that my MS documents (Windows XP Home) and browser (Firefox) load much more quickly, and I can have multiple (at least 10) tabs open - including flash video content, 2 MS documents, and Solitaire running without significantly slowing down my computer.

I don't do heavy usage activities like gaming or video editing, but the product did what I wanted it to, which is make my computer faster.
If needed, I would buy Crucial products again.
