Best RAID controller Oct 04, 2010

I've tried many different hardware and software RAID controllers for 4 to 16 drives, and I always wind up going back to 3Ware. 3Ware provides the best support of all, especially the RAID management software.

As usual 3ware outdoes themselves -- an amazing controller that just works. My only complaint is that the picture makes it appear that this is the boxed version and that it comes with cables. Instead it comes in a white box (without anything written on it) and there are no breakout cables. Not a huge deal but I had to order the cables separately and this delayed my project.

It definitely speed up my disk access - handles a 8 x 2GB array without an issue - BUT - do order the cable sets with you order this - I didn't follow other reviews stating this - but yes they are separate - over all - very satisified
