The picture for this item is wrong. This is a power supply for a Spider/SpiderDuo. If you buy a Spider/SpiderDuo then one of these power supplies is included in the box with the Spider/SpiderDuo. Documentation says that this item is "optional". By that it means that the Spider/SpiderDuo can be powered by USB power so use of this external power supply is considered optional. Using USB power, you will lose the connection to the Spider/SpiderDuo during reboot and when the computer is off. If you want to access the Spider/SpiderDuo when the computer is off or being rebooted then you must connect the external power supply included in the Spider/SpiderDuo box. I bought this item in a bundle with a SpiderDuo. When I realized that I did not need it, I returned it. No charge either way with Amazon Prime shipping.
