Description:

Your business is growing faster than you expected and four computers simply aren't enough to meet your needs. Not a problem! ATEN's new eight-port MasterView Plus is just the tool you need to help reduce the need for redundant hardware. Eight monitors, mice and keyboards are simply too expensive, bulky and down-right inconvenient for most system administrators. Why bother when you can control all eight, or even up to 512 computers with a single keyboard, monitor and mouse. Just think of the time, space and money you'll save. But our MasterView Plus is much more than a simple eight-port KVM switch. Built-in AutoScan mode lets you conveniently monitor every attached computer for a specified amount of time, while our On Screen Display technology allows you to assign a unique name to each computer and access it via a slick, menu-driven interface. With it's 1U, 19?rack-mountable casing and status-monitoring LEDs, the MasterView Plus is the perfect switch for your server room or any other multi-computer environment. 4Works Great!  Jul 30, 2010

Works great for me althought the quality of the video is a little lacking. But overall does what it's suppose to do so I can't complain.

3Works well but wireless input device support tricky, and and hotkey response is kind of sluggish  Jan 13, 2012
By snappity "snappity"
I bought this to replace an old PS/2-only Iogear KVM, because it was becoming so hard to find PS/2 input devices. So far it does what I need it to, and I have no trouble with the three systems I've hooked up so far -- a Linux desktop system, a Windows 7 system and a Linux server (text mode console) system; my monitor is 1920x1080 and the video is rock-solid. The hotkey and OSD response is a bit disappointing -- it takes a few seconds for the OSD to come up when you punch the hotkey, for example -- but it does work. Also, I had a little trouble finding a wireless mouse that works well with this KVM. ATEN doesn't promise that wireless mice will work, but they do suggest that some RF mice (not bluetooth) will work. I tried a Logitech M305, but I had to click two or three times before it would recognize the input. I also tried two Microsoft mice -- a Mobile 6000 and a Mobile 3500 -- but while the click response was OK, the pointer response was really laggy/floaty. ATEN support -- which I have to say is awesome, they responded in like a half an hour -- said that they didn't have a list of known-good mice but that I should avoid high-resolution laser mice and look for something that was as simple and close to a basic three-button mouse as possible. Eventually I tried one of these (HDE (TM) USB Wireless Optical Scroll Mouse) and it worked well, although ergonomically it isn't all that great. I have not tried any wireless keyboards on this device, I'm using a basic Logitech USB keyboard (K120).

Update: I also found that this mouse: Neewer 2.4GHz Red Wireless Portable USB Optical Mouse WITH USB RECEIVE Signal works well with this KVM, maybe a bit better than the HDE I linked above. This mouse is also a bit nicer as mice go, and I'd recommend it over the HDE.
