Almost perfect. Nov 28, 2008
By Eric F. Crist This item, for the most part is great. First, it comes with a six-foot USB cable. That allows me to put the device in a better spot that directly above the CPU. Also, in testing, I'm able to get near full-speed USB 2.0, which was a concern, despite the mention of such in the product manual.
The above being said, I have three beefs with the unit. First, it's only available in silver. plain black would have been nice. Honestly, the silver/black combo is hideous. Second, I despise blue LEDs on items that are stationary, and in my face. These include USB hubs, car stereos, and laptops. They are painful to look at. Red is gentler on the eyes and doesn't kill night vision if you're working in the dark. My third, and last, complaint is the power cable. While the USB cable is plenty long, the power cable is a standard three feet. It would be nice if it were six feet.

Great except for the LED Jun 19, 2010
By R. C. Tash I don't normally write reviews for products, but I feel inspired to for this product. The USB hub works great, it fits in a 3" hole perfectly. I use a laptop on a very deep desk and really got tired of seeing a ton of wires running all over on top of it. The hub has holes on the sides so you can easily route wires, which cleans up my desk completely.
The only real problem I have with this product is that damn LED. Its super bright. I read reviews before purchasing stating this, but I shrugged them off thinking it wouldn't be so bright. I was wrong. Don't think you can just put a piece of electrical tape over it, it will shine through it. I ended up having to double electrical tape the thing to get the brightness down.
The brightness really isn't a problem when you are sitting at your desk, its when you are up and moving around in the room that its a problem.
Anyway, just my two cents.

Perfect Port Feb 18, 2008

Own a Dell desktop that only has ports in the back. Now I don't have to keep sliding my cpu in and out of my desk for my accessories. Only complaint I have is with the blue light on top. As far as I know it doesn't turn off. I have mine installed in my keyboard slide tray, so its under the top of the desk.(I made the housing hole in my desk by tracing the circle peice, drilled small holes on the line, and popped the wood out with a flat head screw driver and a hammer) The lip of the peice covers the rough edges you created so it looks flush.
Seriously cool USB Hub Jan 15, 2012
By John B Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R122MKOXTHBGNE I love this USB Hub. It looks sharp on my desk, works beautifully, and I like that it's self powered... for devices that require more power than a standard USB hub can offer. For once, they packed in cables that will meet your length requirements... nice heavy duty 6 foot cables. I'm very pleased with this product.
It works as expected. Oct 11, 2011
By Truthful Nice little product. I was looking for a recessed USB hub that I can install in the wall and this was the best I could find. It would be great if there was no need for power supply. I didn't realize it had it when I ordered it. But since I couldn't find anything that would suit my need, this will do just fine.
