1USB 1.1 not 2.0  Mar 11, 2007
By M. Garza
Be warned, this is not a USB 2.0 hub. USB 2.0 is over half a decade old, there is no reason for this to even exist.

4USB 1.1 It is what it is... a no frills 12 MBPS hub  Oct 06, 2010
By Charles
I just found this unit for $3.00 at a Thrift Store. It includes the power adapter and USB cable (which to me is worth the $3.00 I paid for it. I like it because it gives me more space to add things on my brand new MacBook Pro that do not require speeds above 12 MPBS that the USB 1.1 protocol supports. I also have an older desktop that uses a PS/2 connection that can use this hub since it lacks in USB ports. I have some flash drives that are bulky that take up more space than needed so I can't easily plug in side-by-side in the machine so this gives me extra space. I now can plug in my brand new Logitech Laser mouse receiver into this hub and it's out of the way.
I think this product for what it is...is ok. Just fits a certain niche, is cheap and not made for performance. I think it's ok for Belkin to keep selling it as long as they have stock but it does need to be better marked as USB 1.1 so people know it's the old protocol, however, since to be fair the copyright date on the packaging was printed in 2005 so that part is a little dubious. But happy with my little bus or power adapter powered hub with USB cable includeds. I've sold these USB cables alone at Staples and Best Buy for $25. Plus the power adapter probably fits my Belkin router I also found at a thrift store for under $10.
It pays to know your tech and the value thereof but this item is working just great for me right now.
