Handy widget Dec 16, 2007
By Capt. Destructo Very useful device. Reads many types of cards, plus has 3 USB ports, which is particularly helpful if your computer's ports are hidden in the back.

Incompatible with SDHC or 4GB CF cards though specs say otherwise Feb 19, 2010

I've had this card reader/hub for nearly a year. Until a month ago, it worked just fine. However, I've recently found that neither my 4GB Transcend SDHC card nor my 4GB Kingston 45X Elite Pro CF card is recognized. I wrote to i-Rocks to request replacement under warranty, and they tell me that I need to upgrade to a more recent card reader/hub. The more recent item (IR-8110) is not even listed on their website, and the specs for the IR-8000 clearly state that SDHC cards are supported.
i-Rocks customer support refuses to acknowledge their error. This is the last time I'm going to buy one of their products.

Power adaptor broke after 3 months Jan 20, 2009
By Drome I bought this in late September, the warranty was for 30 days, and then the power adapter stopped working in late December. It's useless now, though I enjoyed it just fine until its shoddy, cheap design caved in on itself.
Small, cute, and functional Jun 17, 2009
By chibaraki Works very well as a card reader, and the extra USB ports are quite handy. Unfortunately I found it extremely difficult to get anything into the USB ports -- it seems like something was bent or not lined up correctly inside. Once I got things plugged in everything worked fine.
Performed flawlessly in OSX.
My only other (admittedly very trivial) complaint is that having the ports so low to the desk might not be the best idea if you're a klutz like me -- I had to replace mine after I spilled a drink on my desk and liquid got in a card reader slot.
Nice little Device, definitely pretty =) Feb 11, 2009
By J. Pang It is very small and compact and very nice looking.
I would definitely have given it 5 stars except that the USB slots are slightly misaligned with the ports so I need angle the USB plugs a little to get them in. That said, the card cards (I have both CF and SDHC cards) slip in perfectly.
Otherwise, the hub/port seems to work just fine. And if you were wondering, it works fine with SDHC cards, and you can "eject" the cards while keeping the hub running.
