1Do not use!  Aug 06, 2010
By Ghenghis
Does this product work....yes, it does work. It works almost too well, and here's why I'm tellin ya not to use the thing.

Installation was a snap, just had to sync up with my new Win 7 machine (yeah, I know this product was designed for Vista but whats the dif?) and connected my old XP laptop and it was pretty much automatic from there. It did transfer all my files and favorites from IE8 and Firefox, but here's the downside....all the reasons I wanted a new laptop were transferred in the process for example, something had disabled Internet Explorer, well now its disabled on my new laptop and I cant find a fix for it, also it did NOT transfer any of my Outlook Express contacts, but it did hose up my new Windows Live Mail such that I cant send or receive mail. Thanks a lot! A System Restore did not cure all the problems caused by this thing, and I am now looking at a fresh install of Win 7 and starting all over, all on a machine thats not yet a week old.

The real problem with this product, and I'm a big fan of Cables To Go, is that you cant select or deselect what you want to transfer, its a total autopilot deal. Thats a problem cause Windows 7 is screwed up enough. Use at your own risk.
