2Package says Micro B but contains Micro A cable  Jul 18, 2008
By M. McMillan
I can't really say I dislike the cable or anything, but wanted to inform you that Cables Unlimited put a Micro A cable in the package even though it's labeled Micro B. I just emailed them for an RMA, which hopefully will go thru fine, but still I am going to have to pay to ship it back to them and then wait at least a week before I receive the correct cable. Meanwhile, I will have to get under my driver's seat and plug in my only Micro B USB cable to my car-puter in my WRX to charge my LG Dare phone on my road trip, then get back under my seat and unplug the cable and take it inside if I need to charge the phone while at my destination. Overall, an amateurish mistake, especially for a company that specializes in cables (Cables Unlimited) and one of the only actual Micro USB cables on amazon.com (you might see another one made my Zen that says Micro USB but it's actually just mini USB).

2Don't expect long life  Jan 10, 2011
By T. Rodkey
Looking for a long cable to plug into a wall-wart USB charger and still use my smart phone. The cable has a good length, but there are a few problems that I expect will lead to early failure.

First is the micro-USB hood. The metal shroud is made from a soft steel with a high-ductility (bendability). Maybe because of this or maybe because of material selection in the contacts or something else, but the contact is intermittent. When plugged into a computer if you touch the phone of cable, the USB connection drops and reconnects or just drops. I tried to fix this by bending the shroud with my fingernail. I CANNOT bend the shroud on other USB cables I own.

Second is the connection between the choke coil and Micro-USB end. Since this area of the cable is one that gets bent the most, like when trying to keep the tip connected in your phone, the wires are getting brittle (starting to fatigue). Ultimately, as this part is bent over and over, it will eventually break the small wires in the cable and that's all she wrote. From how quickly it is happening, I can tell the manufacturer selected the wire based on cost versus longevity. Oh well, that's how I bought the cable so I guess it proves the old adage.

I got what I payed for.

4Doesn't work well for Galaxy S phones  Nov 09, 2010
By K. Logue
While this is just a USB<=>Micro USB cable, it doesn't plug-in correctly to the Galaxy S phones. The length is great, but i have to be careful with the positioning to get it to work right. This should not be used as a primary cable.

As for its intended use (the blackberry), i have no comment. Overall the cable seems a bit overly heavy for this application, but it works.

1Stoped working after 7 weeks  Jan 03, 2011
By Mike B
I figured I'd give this cable a chance since it was the length I wanted at the right price. I was hoping maybe others were abusing the cable and it would work fine for me, but the end plug on mine stopped working too less than 2 months after I got it. It's been sitting in the same spot the whole time used to charge my phone. One day I woke up and found my phone wasn't anymore charged than when I went to bed.

I don't know how you can mess up manufacturing a USB cable, but they sure did. Don't waste your money on this cable or any others made by Cables Unlimited!!

5Excellent value and construction  Feb 03, 2012
By Timothy S. Stoddard "softsmyth"
I don't know what the bad reviewers are talking about... this cable is of excellent quality and the micro B USB connector fits tight and doesn't fall out or wiggle. Perhaps the others are using this in a micro A USB device which would be a loose fit or their device socket is worn out or abused. Anyway the cable is a great value and works perfectly... and the 3 meter (9+ foot) length is just what I need for the airport where it is hard to get close to those 'convenient' charge stations.
