3Great product, horrible pricing!  Feb 11, 2010

The CPM-E4 is an extra battery magazine for the CP-E4 (an external battery for the 580EXII Flash, and others).

The CP-E4 includes one of these, but if you want a 2nd (either because it's known to break EASILY, or to minimize the time it takes to swap out the 8 batteries one-by-one), you're forced to purchase this.

Function-wise, I found nothing wrong with it. Several have reported that the tabs break very easily, I havent experienced this (I use the holes on the bottom to push half of the battery out, rather than trying to pry it out the top).

The problem is that this is a battery holder - very, very plain and simple. A piece of plastic with a few pieces of metal. I don't know how they can justify selling it at such a high price (actually, I can - the pros want/need one and are willing to pay).

For $[...] I'd buy 5 of these things just to have them ready. For $[...], I can't do to the same.

It all comes down to how fast you need to be. If you can afford 2 minutes to remove the magazine, remove 8 batteries, put 8 new ones in and re-load the magazine, save your cash. If you're taking photos where you always need the battery pack loaded and only have 15 seconds to swap out the magazine for a full one, get this item.

Like I said, it works wonderfully - but at the high, high price I just can't recommend it.

Arrived before scheduled date. Nothing difficult about this order though. Placed order, Paid, Shipped, Tracked, Arrived (again, ahead of schedule). Although, it is supposed to work like this. Happy Customer. I would order again from this company.
