5Can't Go Wrong With Crucial...  Sep 15, 2007
By G. Roberti "Lube Man"
I have been buying memory in many forms for years, for computers, digital cameras, cell phones, Jump Drives, etc. In the beginning, when there weren't that many suppliers out there, most of the brands were very good and quality made...they were reliable and there were seldom any compatibility issues. NOW, with all the Chinese memory out there, the whole ball game has changed. I, like most folks out there, bought the best deal after some research on the product and went with the savings. I can't begin to tell you how many faulty units I have received over the last few years....and when you buy on the Internet, the return issues are a real hassle. So then I started buying local (Comp USA) and over paying for a product that could be easily be returned if need be. Then I found Crucial...WOW, what a great company! You can download a small program that will scan your computer and tell you what you have in there now and then make recommendations! You can Online chat with a Rep or call them on the phone and ALWAYS get a courteous and HONEST person...ALWAYS! I have never had a single failure with numerous products I have bought from them...and their pricing is always fair...shipping is reasonably priced (not the usual rip off) and very fast. I usually check the Crucial website for the right product and cross reference to Amazon to see where I get the best price...it's about 50/50 based on availability and price. I highly recommend them.

1Fair Warning!  Dec 23, 2009
By D. T. Berns
Don't purchase this memory if you have an older laptop that uses low density memory. This product has high density memory and will not work in older machines. The Crucial tech. service folks tell me that the write part for my old Dell Inspiron 1100 is a CT6464X335X. Upgrading the BIOS will not help you.

5It works  Mar 29, 2008
By AKO California
Since I'm not overclocking my laptop, there's not much to say other than the memory works. Sped my computer up since it doesn't have an independent graphics card and I bought it with only 512MB to start with. Now with 1GB, it's enough.

1Be careful  Oct 09, 2010

Was buying memory for an older laptop. all atributes seemed to match but chips wouldn't boot up. Turns out in dealing directly with manufacturer that two types of memory both have same specs but one is low density and these chips were high density and wouldn't work

3won't work on dell inspiron 1100  Jan 19, 2010
By John W. Kuhns
won't work for dell inspiron 1100. Memory shipped was CT6464X335. Problem turns out to be that this laptop has a bios bug where it won't handle normal PC2700 memory. It requires PC2100 memory. On the plus side, it can handle a 1GB sodimm (dell's max memory rating is out-dated). I purchased a 1GB All Components PC2100 ACSO266X64/1024 stick from Newegg for $33 which works fine.
