Nothing in the description indicates this is high density memory and will not work in 90% of the older computers out there that need low density memory.

I used the configurator at Crucial and it correctly told me the type of memory I needed but it cost twice as much as the memory here. Thinking that Crucial was trying to rip me off I bought the memory listed on this page only to find it did not work. Turns out Crucial was trying to steer me straight not rip me off. Don't make the same mistake I did and think just because it says 1GB 184-Pin PC2700 333Mhz DIMM DDR RAM that is all you need to know to match it correctly to your PC.

4Crucial Tech 1 GB 184 Pin PC 2700 333 Mhz DIMM DDR Ram  Mar 15, 2008
By J. Qualls
Crucial RAM works like a charm, easy to install and it increased the speed of my computer when processing data or accessing more than one software at a time. Well worth the money for 2GB of RAM.

5Wow! What a snap!!  Feb 27, 2008
By Stacy Blackburn
I purchased this to breath new life into my 'emachines' T2682, which only had 256 mb of RAM. It look less than 5 minutes to install and I noticed a big improvement as soon as I powered it up! It used to take FOREVER to start my PC. Now it cranks up fast and applications start up in a fraction of the time it used to take. I highly recommend this upgrade to anyone who has an older sluggish PC.

5Great Memory Upgrade For Old PC - Highly Recommended!  Mar 06, 2009
By C. F. Hill "CFH"
The "Crucial 1GB 184-Pin PC2700" memory module has brought new life to my mother's aging Dell Dimension 2400. With a scant 256mb of RAM, it was taking forever to boot up and run applications. Being on a budget, she didn't want to buy a new computer for the few things she needs a computer for (games, web surfing, email, and the odd Word doc now and then) so she asked me to take a look.

The cheapest place to start was a memory upgrade so I went to the Crucial web page and ran the auto detect application that told me what memory module we needed.

Installation was easy and fast. The computer recognized the new memory on boot up and the improvement was just remarkable! It was running like a new PC!

Highly Recommended!
