5best prep tool out there  Dec 07, 2010
By Sir Bulldog
I am a tech for Comcast and I can honestly say, this is the best prep tool available. They used to sell em at Home Depot but have been discontinued for some cheap replacements. Unless u work with speaker or cat5, remove the iiner razors or they will butcher u, me and some colleagues learned the hard way. Great tool. I buy 2 at a time

4Great tool to have but be careful!  Apr 12, 2012
By Ae Tech
Yes, be careful I cut myself carelessly and this was in no way related to the item's functionality, it was my fault for being careless, I was using my index finger to strip a coaxial cable and I didn't noticed that I placed my index finger in the handle that doesn't have the little 'O' or ring shape, thus causing me to slip my finger all the way in and I did cut myself, it wasn't a serous cut but it was deep enough to make me stop and treat it right away.

I ended up removing those blades that I cut myself with, (the ones at the end near the 'O'/ring shape'.
I just needed to strip cables not cut them anyways. but again it was my fault and the item works wonders!

I would recommend it! (but also suggest they watch what they're doing or remove the extra blades to be on the safe side)

5Strips RG-6 Perfectly  Dec 08, 2011
By Leonard A.
I had in the past a different brand of stripper. It was functional at stripping co-ax. This is like the Caddie of strippers. Comes preset to perfectly strip RG-6 co-ax proir to installing waterproof connectors. Line the cable up, 3-4 turns of the stripper, remove stripper, remove pieces from co-ax, install connectors. 30 seconds or less. Job done.

5Good Product, good shipping  Aug 18, 2011
By amstefko "amstefko"
I was looking for this DataShark in stores and couldn't find. Glad this seller had it online. What's great about this stripper is the spring loaded tension it places on the cable. Makes for a clean and EASY cut. It's important to me, cause I am a cable installer and need to cut CLEAN and FAST multiple times a day. Thanks!!!

5Best stripper to date  Mar 09, 2012
By James D. Bova
I've used a bunch of cable strippers. Now this is the only one I use. It strips cat5, cat5e, cat6, cat6a, rg59, rg6, and rg6 quad perfectly.

The adjustable blade for stripping Ethernet cable is really handy, since different manufacturers have slightly thicker or thinner jacket surrounding the cable. When stripping a differently rated cable ( cat5 vs cat6 ), or stripping a different brand of cable, just dial out the blade depth a bit, then dial it in slowly. You get the perfect strip without nicking any of the individual conductors' insulation.

The flat wire cutter works well for trimming stripped Ethernet conductors to a uniform length prior to inserting them into a crimp style modular plug.

The round cable cutter cuts coaxial cable easily, without crushing the dielectric like a pair of side cuts would do.

It comes with easy to follow instructions. It is lightweight, small enough to fit in the tool bag, and big enough not to loose.
