5It's a Fluke - worth the money  Mar 31, 2012
By Dave1E "controls freak"
I was hesitant to order this item because other reviews stated it will not indicate Ethernet speed. Perhaps they had an earlier version that did not indicate Ethernet speed, or else they just didn't read the manual. Whatever, this network verifier does in fact indicate speed, ID, pairs, etc. flawlessly. I'm really not an icon lover so if I had anything negative to write it would be to use text instead of the stupid icons, or add text to the icons for those that can read. As always, I do not regret spending my dollars on anything built by Fluke.

5Excellent network cabling diagnostic tool  Oct 13, 2011
By TekyJeff
The Fluke MicroScanner2 cable verifier is a terrific network cabling diagostic tool. I went from a no-name brand "which pins are connected" tool to this beauty. It not only tells you which pins are connected, and how long the cable is ... if there's an issue with the cable, it tells you the issue (open or short) and how far down the cable the issue occurs. It is also a tone generator. It works with Cat3, Cat5, Cat6, and coax and tests up to 1000 MHz. I won't go to a cabling job without this handy gadget. I got it from Amazon.com at a great price ... I received it quickly and without issue.

5Life Saver  Oct 16, 2009
By GO N 4 U "Clay"
The scanner helps our emergency crews repair and maintain temporary communications during Earthquakes, fires and floods.
Lives depend on temporary communication.
We can quickly resolve cable issues, to keep our crews communicating in the direst of times, when we have this scanner on hand.

3OK for a Continuity Tester  Mar 01, 2012
By David Garrett "datadavid"
This tester is OK for a simple continuity tester. It does not measure the quality of the cable, i.e., it doesn't tell you whether the cable will pass 10 MB/s, 100 MB/s or 1,000 MB/s. I was under the impression that it did but I was wrong. Still, it is a handy test to carry with you to verify you have the correct pin-out. It is very compact and easy to use. I think it is overpriced for what it does.
