Incompatibility and software issues - buyer beware! May 09, 2012

This product comes with BlueSoleil Bluetooth software which, from research, is supposed to be good with A2DP compatibility and is the primary reason for this purchase. The version that comes with this is 1.6.1.4 though the current version of BlueSoleil is 8. Needless to say, the software is incompatible with Windows 7 and throws a generic error message "Error 267" when attempting to install.

In addition to the BlueSoleil troubles, Microsoft's website indicates that nothing special is needed to install the Windows 7 drivers. You should be able to plug it in and have the drivers install automatically. However, when plugging in the device it returns a message that the driver install failed.

There are no software updates for BlueSoleil available on GE's website. There are also no drivers whatsoever for Bluetooth devices on GE's website. To sum it up, the product is useless because there is no current software or support available.
