Very retro - pixelated like an old pac man game Dec 20, 2008
By KPS Wow, what's with the screen? I just got mine, and tried out various media in it. The screen is pixelated like an old TI we had when I was a kid, and I am not exaggerating. You would not believe that this is for sale in 2008. I am in shock. This is definitely going back.

Nice Portable DVD Player Oct 10, 2010
By meamoviewatcher Pros : Nice and compact with a very good picture. Inexpensive so very good purchase for a child of 8 and up.
Cons: Sound is ok need to buy better ear buds. The ones they supple are hard and they hurt my ears.
DANGER!!! Aug 01, 2011
By Clay Richardson On about the 4th video, this thing quite working and started smoking! You know where there is smoke there tends to be fire! Not fun to deal with on the interstate. I called the company about it to report the concern and they kept telling me to call them back in a couple of days. When something starts to spontaneoulsy combust in my van, next to my children, you had better tell me something better than call back in a couple of days! My last statement is... Buyer beware. Do you love your family? Don't buy this product!

Buy from a company that stands behind its stuff, not from GPX Apr 06, 2011
By A. Miller Though not this exact model, my GPX portable DVD player stayed in its box until the day before a family vacation. Once out of the box, the player worked for 2 hours and then the screened died. Please note that it was in my possession (not my kids) before and after it died. My wife and I spent about an hour trying to think of some button or command we must have pressed - it couldn't be the new player, could it?!? We packed it away, went on with the trip, and I got around to calling GPX about a month later. When I did call, I was first told it must have been me dropping it (I think I would remember and wouldn't have spent an hour trying to figure out what happened). Then, they said they could help if it was in warranty. I had called a little later than I expected and they said that although I called 84 days from when I received the unit, I was 92 days out from when I ordered it - so sorry, we cannot help you. The funny thing - they couldn't care less that the product failed within 2 hours!!!! I would NOT recommend GPX products.

Great for kids. Aug 09, 2010
By Mark E Boito After reading a previous review I decided that I had to weigh in. This is a great value to keep a kid happy while on long car trips. It's by no means a portable bluray player, but hence the price.
