Yes, it *IS* voice compatible Dec 10, 2008
By J. Palaima Iv seen a lot of people who seem to have issues with this modem getting the voice functionality to work... It *IS* voice compatible.. But its the way Agere licenses this as a "value added" feature to particular vendors modems that is causing the difficulty . Heres the download you need... http://www.hiroinc.com/2008/Driver/H50113/H50113_vista.zip
Instructions on a third party site that explains how to resolve the issue http://www.rtopro.com/videohirovista.htm
Im betting that most of you are just plugging in the modem and *NOT* updating the driver .... Windows built in driver does NOT support voice on the Agere chipset!

It IS voice compatible Sep 10, 2009
By Bob Day The HiRO model H50113 USB modem very definitely IS voice compatible and it has caller ID. I have verified both of these features with a telephone answering application I have. It is one of the very few modems I've found for which both of these features work in 32-bit Windows 7 (I haven't tried 64-bit Windows 7). Just make sure that you install the version 2.1.88 Vista32 driver that is on the CD that comes with the modem (select the install file agrmu32v.inf). Update, October 30, 2009 - This modem also works just fine in 64-bit Windows 7, both voice and caller ID. Use the Vista64 driver on the CD and select the install file agrmu64v.inf.

Works Perfectly with Phone Tray Apr 15, 2011

This modem captures the caller ID signal, whether online or not, thus allowing Phone Tray to intercept and deal with those annoyingly persistent telemarketers.

Performs as Advertised Jan 30, 2010
By Nick from Shelburne VT Bought this to use with a new high-end, Windows 7, PC (ordered without a 56k modem so as not to waste an expansion slot). This Hiro installed easily. Works well. Those that might claim it is "slow" appear to be misguided. The unit easily meets it's claimed specs. NOTE: while the picture of this unit doesn't show it, it DOES come with a USB cable for the PC connection.

Data/Fax/Voice, but no Caller ID??? Mar 13, 2009
By John E. Songer

I've got a great program that not only pops up the Caller ID & distributes it over my network, but it will recognize numbers I've blacklisted and play a rejection message on the line & hang up. All I want is USB hardware that can support this without its outdated drivers crashing Windows XP. Vista compatible? Should have modern drivers, right? I didn't even consider that a Data/Fax/Voice modem might NOT have Caller ID. Why wouldn't it?? It's on its way back, so I can't vouch for its other features. But I'm very disappointed.
