Excellent headset..but... Sep 19, 2004
By Rasmus Østergaard when i bought it the name was "Anubis Typhoon Bass Vibration Headset"
it's the exact same headset in every respect(just do a google search for the anubis)
on to the review:
It's really a quite excellent headset for all uses, initially i purchased it for voicechat in games, and the microphone is very good.
the sound is very clear, no problems with even very loud sounds being transmitted through the microphone, top quality microphone.
now on to the interesting bit, the sound.
i was surprised how powerful the bass boost is, without distorting the sound.
I'm not into music that requires a lot of bass, but it made a lot of games sound really good, and it gave a certain feel to it when thunder struck in the game and the headset literally shaked on your head ;)
if you turn the bass boost off the sound remains good, and the sound becomes more "natural" but it's still a very clean sound no matter how high you turn up the volume.
that leads on to the only negative comment i have on this headset, on my system the max volume weren't very loud, it was loud enough, but there was a few instances where i would have liked it to go a little higher...but in 99% of the cases it was fine.
last point on this headset is how comfortable it is to wear for extended periods of time: this headset fits most people really well, and despite the size it's really not heavy, the longest i wore it without taking it off(long raid in a game hehe)was a bit over 8 hours, and it didn't get uncomfortable at any point.
so thumbs up for this excellent headset from me.

A very pleasant surprise... and wonderful customer service. Jul 08, 2009
By Sprout So, it was one of those days. I was in a hurry and was looking for a pair of USB headphones/mic for gaming, general voice-to-text, etc. Something quick, cheap and could be on my doorstep the next day. My computer is in the closet a bit of a ways behind me, and I wanted something I could just run from the USB hub on the desk. It wasn't until the order cancellation window had closed that I realized that these USB powered headphones were not, in fact, USB-connected headphones. I figured I'd just refuse the package and order something else, but after actually reading the specs I figured, for $25, why not give them a try? My wireless Sennheisers sounded great and afforded me much mobility, but didn't produce considerable bass.
The next day they arrived, and I tore into the packaging to give them a try... I had to stretch the cord out to it's limits to get it to my computer from my desk, but I was just trying them out for the time being. First impression; muddy sound, no bass, ... oh wait, I need to turn on the bass feature, duh. A few seconds in my sound card's equalizer had them beautifully tuned (in the headphones' defense, the EQ was previously set for my Sennheisers, which were also not spot on from the get go). I loaded up a track that I knew to be pretty bassy (I won't say what, it's too embarassing), and next thing I knew these headphones were shaking my head with VERY clean, responsive bass and great sound... I've had better sounding headphones that I spent four times as much, or more, on. But for under thirty bucks, these sounded great, even before the bass kicked in.
They are great for gaming too, if the sound for the game is well developed, gunshots, explosions, music, etc., really brought you into the game with the extra bass.
But the best was yet to come...
The USB power cable (there's also a battery pack included) is not very common, a regular USB plug with a little round DC plug that connects to the headphone cable. I hadn't seen one before, and wouldn't know where to get a spare if I needed it. Which was very unfortunate, as the cable was stretched right across a cage containing 5 pet rodents (Long-tailed hamsters). The cable was chewed through the second I turned my back (no other casualties, don't worry). I googled around looking for a similar cord, and nothing could be located...
So, desperate, I googled the company's US site and shot them an email, asking if I could purchase a replacement. Shortly thereafter, I received a response offering to ship out a replacement, free of charge. It arrived in my mailbox 2 days later and I was back in business.
Great sound, incredible bass, wonderful customer service...all while costing next-to-nothing? Awesome...
I snagged a 3.5mm extension and now plug the USB cord into the hub at my desk, so no risk of nibbly rodents getting to it again. The Sennheiser wireless headphones are now set up on my wife's computer. I gave up the portability of $100+ Sennheiser wireless headphones for the bass capabilities of these budget phones, what does that tell you?
Also, very comfortable (too much bass for too long starts to hurt though, but it's easy to turn down), and surprisingly sturdy and well-made (definitely more than the Senns)...
I keep going on and on about these, so I should stop... But if you're reading this and wondering if you should buy these... do it, you won't be disappointed.

Great Set of Headphones for CHEAP Aug 23, 2006
By S. Cho I just got these in the mail today and couldnt wait to try them out.
Heres the lowdown
>The bass vibration feature is awsome! it makes you feel like you are a theater or a car with a nice system.
>It doesnt have to rely on batteries (although you can when you take it on trips) when you plug it into the USB
>The cushion on the ears arent as soft as my sony but i think i need to break them in a little to soften them up :)
What I dont like is that i can here faint electronic noise.. which sucks but its only noticed when your headphones are silent..
what i also noticed was that if the bass feature is turned way up and you listen to a rap/hip hop song or anything with continuous bass it loses its sync with the music and just kind of massage your ears ( this could be good or bad)
The mic seems to work great the playback sounded clean... its just a matter of adjusting the levels on your computer and how far the mic physically sits from your face... after a bit of tweaking i was getting pretty damn good sound.
Overall im pretty damn happy with these mostly becuase they are CHEAP AS HELL but dont seem like it :)

Great Buy Jul 03, 2009
By William Redenbaugh Looking for a cheap gaming headset, this is the best. The voice quality is good, the head phones are decent, and the rumble makes things more realistic. Good price for the quality.

I owned this headset for 2 years and it's one of the best headsets I've ever used. Not only is it cheap, but it has great bass and treble. The bass vibration is a cool feature. I've played COD4 and heard everything crystal clear. Buy it, you'll be glad you did!
