5Back up  Jan 24, 2010

It works just as I thought it would. New computers don't come with floppy access. We still use it for an Embroidery machine .

5This 1.44 MB drive was better than expected!!!  Nov 04, 2010
By EJG
Like everyone else, I was looking for a way to read and save data from legacy 1.44 MB 3.5" floppies. After reading reviews on all the available External USB 1.44 MB drives, and seeing comments about the cheaper Teac drives not reading the low density floppies, I decided to go with the more expensive option from Iomega. I only have high density floppies so I can't confirm operation with the low density ones but other reviewers have. This Iomega drive is reading my 10 to 15 year old floppies perfectly. Another surprising thing is how quiet this drive operates. Very smooth and near silent operation. Unlike the picture on Amazon, and to my preference, the drive is all matte black in color. This is one solid and well-built drive. Windows 7 Pro recognized the drive and installed the driver within about 5 seconds from plugging it in. I'd probably never need it, but I like this drive so much, that I'm thinking about ordering a spare.

5Iomega 32633 Floppy Host Powered USB Drive  Dec 01, 2009
By G. Barry
I didn't have an internal floppy disc drive on my current computers but discoved I had a need for small, individual storage and I still had a bunch of floppies. I order this drive and it worked perfectly. Easy to install, just plug and play. Sometimes the old ways are still good.

5Iomega - Excellent as always  Dec 28, 2008
By Sharon Kay
I received this product just a few days after ordering, but have not had time until now to even take it out of the box. It is amazingly easy to use - plug and play - absolutely - just plug it in and start using.

I have been copying (for 2 hours) my old floppy disks onto my computer for future transfer to CD's and this Floppy Disk Drive works just as if the disk had always been installed inside my computer. Thank you Iomega for quality workmanship.

5This is the USB floppy drive to get  Dec 29, 2010
By Arthur Stoppe
If you need a USB floppy disk drive because your computer doesn't support an internal one (which is the case with most new computers)then this is the one to get. It costs a lot more than the other brands out there, but it is worth it as it is well made and works the way it's supposed to. If your computer's BIOS supports booting from a USB device you may even be able to boot your computer from this drive! My ASUS P5Q Pro Turbo motherboard supports this, and it's handy for running certain utilities such as Memtest 86 or 86+, or motherboard BIOS updating programs that need to boot from a diskette.
