4It does what it says it'll do  Dec 28, 2011
By C. Clark
I think it's time for a fair review on this product. One previous review gives it one star because of a bad experience with the seller (irrelevant) and another gives it three stars because it's obviously not compatible with the system it was installed in.

So, what does this thing do? On certain models of Lenovo computers, this DVI-D monitor adapter can be used to add a second monitor to the system. It is NOT a stand-alone graphics card. Rather, it is an adapter that creates a second monitor port, utilizing the computer's built-in graphics card.

We use these on our Lenovo A70 mini towers and they work fine. The built-in VGA port continues to operate as the primary, and this DVI-D port operates as the secondary.

Even though it works fine, I do have a couple of small gripes about it:

1) It's overpriced. You're basically looking at an adapter that adds the ability to utilize the built-in graphics card to add a second monitor. It adds no additional performance to the mix. For a few bucks more, you could easily add a full-fledged graphics card with dual monitor support.

2) You can't assign it as the primary (at least that's my experience in Windows XP). No matter how hard I try, Windows XP will NOT allow you to assign this monitor using this adapter as the primary (#1) monitor. If you try to do so, I'll instantly revert back to the VGA port as the primary and will turn "extend my desktop" off, making you go back through setting that up. Not a big deal, but aggravating none-the-less.

With that being said, it's a 4-star product - it does what it says it does, so it deserves that.

3Video Card for IBM  Jul 06, 2010
By ScoobyET
Shipping was on time but the product didn't quite work as I thought. This is not due to the reseller though.

Analog output quit working so I ended up not being able to have 2 monitors in the PC as I thought it would.

I had to plug into the digital port and the card worked fine.

Next time I will verify it states that it works as I thought before I purchase anything.

I would recommend not to buy anything from AntOnline, terrible customer service and horrible return policy. AntOnline sucks!
