Solid power supply, great value Nov 05, 2009
By ITBob I bought this power supply to replace a very flaky one that I had in my Dell e510. It fits great and the cables reach all connectors perfectly (even the hard drives that are way at the bottom of the case).
This power supply is really quiet and I can hardley tell it is on. This is a really good thing in an HTPC.
I think one bad thing about this power supply is that it only has two SATA connectors. It is fine for me because my PC only has 2 SATA connectors on the motherboard and only 2 hard drive bays. However, most newer PCs have at least 4 SATA connectors and many optical drives are SATA now also. you can get molex to SATA converters, but it would be nice to have it built in. The cables are also not sleeved, but I did not care.
I did a lot of research on all the different Power Supplies out there and this was the best value and Ultra is a good name. You also can't beat the lifetime warranty if you register.
Great replacement PSU Dec 07, 2010
By CMH I support about 100 computers in a local school. Power supplies are like water heaters. Once one goes, you'll probably see others go as well. I've swapped out about 5 or 6 supplies with this as a replacement. It is ATX compatible so no problems. It works so no problems. You may have to invest in an additional sata or fan connector convertor (I've reviewed one for these as well). But, for the price it's fine. Note, this is not a gamer's power supply. But, for a basic home or school setup, it works well as a replacement.
