Good for what it is May 20, 2007
By Richard Burt I was looking for a compact case for my laptop which I would then carry inside a roll-on suitcase. I wanted some padding that would help cushion the laptop while it was being wheeled about inside the suitcase, bumped over curbs, popped into overhead racks, and the like. This fit the bill exactly. I wouldn't walk through an airport carrying it by the strap, though I sometimes do that around the house.
The pocket in front is somewhat useful. It is fine for carrying a few discs, or, as in my case, an ethernet cable. I went to Fry's and bought a 14-foot flat patch cord which can be coiled and thus fits neatly in the pocket.
My IBM (Lenovo)Thinkpad Z61t with the 7-cell battery fits just right. The laptop's footprint is 13-1/8 inches by 10-1/8 inches, and the thickness is about 1-1/4 inch. The 7-cell battery protrudes from the back of the laptop by about 1-1/4 inch, and the laptop would have a looser fit if it didn't have the protrusion. As it is, the fit couldn't be better unless there were a custom design that matched the battery protrusion exactly.
I was misled a bit by the illustration. I thought that it had straps like the handles on a briefcase; it doesn't. It has a strap on the end. It's OK that way, but it would be more convenient if it had briefcase-style handles.
By the way, there at least four colors. You're not stuck with black. I purchased the navy blue version. Search Amazon and you should be able to find the other colors if you want something other than black.

merchandise fine, description inadequate Feb 15, 2007
By tony It didn't fit. Otherwise, it is about as expected.
I wanted a snug fit, but the information was not complete enough to get what I wanted. My laptop measured 14 1/16 X 10 1/4 X 1 3/8 exactly. This was close, but couldn't zip up. I bought a larger Case Logic that was cheaper but isn't as nice.

Great Dell Laptop sleeve Feb 11, 2007

I have a Dell Inspiron 630m and this sleeve fits it perfectly. It is really well made and provides the perfect extra cushion for bringing my laptop with me to and from work and while travelling.

love it! Feb 01, 2008
By L. Johnson I love this so much, it fits my laptop perfectly. I wanted a cover to prevent my laptop from getting scratched and bumped when i take it to school, while still being thin enough for me to fit it in my bag along with other things. It also provides protection at home since my laptop is my cats new favorite thing to sit on.
