A stylish bag for grown-ups Mar 10, 2010
By R. Williams
"MBH"
When I turned 35 I decided I needed to stop traveling and coming in to work with a fabric backpack slung over my shoulder. I got this bag on a whim and think it's terrific. Plenty of room for your MacBook Pro and your doodads. It is extremely light and removing the shoulder strap to carry it like a briefcase is easy as pie.
However, I have had the bag for a few years now and it is starting to show signs of wear and tear. The metal rings that connect the straps on the top of the bag are held in place by screw-bolts. The bolts loosen up over time, and I have lost them twice and had to dig in my car for the screws. Replacing them with a trip to the store would be impossible.
Also, the metal "snaps" that hold the front flap closed end up being metal-on-metal. When you walk, they "click". They also vibrate against each other when the bag is sitting in your car. That can drive you nuts if you can't get to them.
But why am I complaining? The bag is extremely useful, stylish-yet-classic, and it beats a neon-orange fabric bag by Targus.
Great Case Nov 03, 2011
By Holland I love this Portfolio. I looked around for about 2 months before I decided on this one. I like the "retro look". It looks classy with out screaming steel me I'm a lob top bag.
Good Qualify Briefcase Sep 27, 2011
By Booger the First for the more current trend of laptop leather briefcase with solid over the shoulder strap, this is a great choice. I would buy it again, if needed.
