Misleading Description Jan 11, 2011
By Techgen I bought this ram for my early 2008 macbook which was starting to run a little slow. After I installed both modules and tried to boot my computer all I got was a black screen. After a quick search I found an apple forum page listing the same problem with a similar computer. It will work combined with one of the original modules but not in pairs, because the ram is incorrectly labeled pc2-5300 when it's actual pc2-6400 and NOT backward compatible with the slower pc2-5300 unless paired with a module of the correct speed.

DO NOT BUY Feb 22, 2011
By Brian T. Oneill These modules are actually 800Mhz. PNY no longer makes or sells 667Mhz modules. Not all computers that require 667Mhz are compatible with 2 800Mhz modules. They refuse to down clock properly. This is especially true with a number of Core 2 Duo MacBooks. Spoke to PNY support, they flat out told me that yes, they sell 800Mhz modules in 667Mhz packaging. If you RMA a module that is 667Mhz (or supposed to be 667Mhz) they will replace it with an 800Mhz module as they no longer have any 667Mhz SODIMMs, not even for RMA replacement!
Horrible marketing department. Horrible RMA strategy.
Never buying another PNY product again!
But, at least their lead tech support person was honest. What I wrote above came directly from him!
They want me to return it to Amazon and make it Amazon's problem that PNY is selling them (and then on to consumers) mislabeled products!!!!!!!!

Lightening speed at a great price! Jun 19, 2008

I bought a pair of these and doubled the 2GBs that my HP dv6500t came with. Two important things (both positive.) 1)Unlike the experience of some other users and reviewers, my Vista 32-bit system shows all 4 GBs (not the three the same OS shows with 4GBs loaded into my DELL desktop) and, more importantly, 2) The speed of the laptop is now lightening fast. It was no slouch with the 2GBs, but now - well, if you appreciate speed you'll find this very modestly priced upgrade well worth your while. No problems whatever.

Even though HP states the new HP mini 1000 series has a max of 1GB RAM, this module works and it is recognized by XP home.
