Hard to find but very useful item May 28, 2009

This is a great adapter for using your old hard drives in SATA only systems that many new computers are these days. Most vendor computers such as Dell only ships with power supplies that are exclusively SATA oriented.
Just buy one of these little adapter to use your old but still useful IDE drives. Of course you'd need IDE port as well, but you can also buy one of IDE PCI card and use that.
Anyhow, this was a great purchase for one of my customer. Thank you Amazon and the merchant who sold it through Amazon.

Great Adapter Jan 10, 2012
By Jeffrey Wortner To be clear, you use this to attach an IDE drive to a SATA connection on mother board, most likely because your motherboard either does not have IDE for what ever reason, and you do not want to throw our a perfectly good IDE drive.
I was frustrated at first because I did not read the instructions. I plugged this in and booted and PC hung. Finally read the instructions and it tells you to move the drive jumper to MASTER. HOWEVER, I did that and still did not work. In my case for my motherboard, the jumper needed to be set to CS(CableSelect). Once I did that the PC booted. I suspect other motherboards/bios will recact differently
HOWEVER, windows explorer did not see the drive when boot completed. When I looked in Device Manager the drive was there with an "!". I then opened Disk Manager and it did see the drive but called it "FORIEGN" or something of that sort. I had to right click on the drive and "Import FORIEGN DRIVE" or something like that and all was well.
Summary, I know this may seem a little technical to some folks, but if you are in messing around with your motherboard and devices you should have the skills to understand the above, it is sort of windows admin 101 kinda stuff.
Hope this helps someone and saves a little time. But the device does do the job and works great.
for madular PSU's that dont need molex May 01, 2012
By reluctant techie except to power the fans, this is a really nice way to tidy up your cable management and avoid having a gangly section of molex connectors dangling unused from your pretty little PSU. does wonders for cable management.
Excellent Device - Works as Advertised. Jan 06, 2012

Excellent temporary solution when your power supply doesn't have enough of the right connectors.
I recently upgraded the GPU on a family members computer and the only thing I hadn't checked was available plugs (just never occurred to me). Thankfully this was all we needed to adapt. In the future we'll upgrade the PSU but for now this is doing exactly what we need.
Good build quality, great price - we're very happy.
Works as advertised Jul 09, 2011
By T. Li I used this to allow my Corsair 600T SE White's fan controller's molex plug to work with the SATA power cable I ran to my optical drive. Saved me from plugging in a molex wire to my modular power supply.
