Despite the product is presented as 16db in fact at full speed the noise level is higher. Not as silent as advertised.
Quietest Fan I've Ever Seen Apr 05, 2011
By Mike Denney I work on computers, and build some pretty nice Home Theater PCs. I love this fan. I bought as many of these as possible before they sold out--EVEN AS I WAS BUYING SOME! Yes, they were apparently so popular that 'fans' of these fans bought them up so fast, that...sppt! They were gone! I only wish my mouse-clicking finger would've been quicker. The four I got direct from Thermaltake (their B-Stock shop, even!) were perfect. So-o-o, very, quiet, you almost have to sit intentionally still to hear them in an otherwise silent room. Mine anyway. All of 'em. Can't say enough--my clicker-fail came when I went back to T-take's store and tried to match my purchase of these 120mm fans with some 80mm. They had 'em at, oh, around $5 apiece (I KNOW!), so with shipping, if I'd got the four I had in my shopping cart, I'd have paid way under $35 incl. shipping. So popular that--while they had appeared in my cart--I couldn't check out with them. That popular, that good a deal, anyways... So, super-quiet, spectacular performance, "hoard-able items these things are" (SEE? Even Yoda says 'so'). BTW, this current Amazon price is better than you can find 'em on eBay (suggesting maybe that's where they're going, so...BUY or REGRET!) If only Thermaltake still made them--I can't get over when companies quit making 'the goods'. I know, I know, ev'body's gone 'liquid'...SO?! I want more, WAH-hahahahah... Seriously, this is a grown man, crying, here...they're THAT good. The secret appears to be pretty obvious--'side fins'. They're vented, or slotted, all around the main fan housing, which is something I've never seen done by any other of the best (i.e. 'Noctua', 'CoolerMaster')...so, why? I dunno, but surely Thermaltake doesn't hold the copyright on a type of casing like this--especially if they quit making 'em. Almost maddening enough to get ideas about using my rotary tool cutter to mod every other case fan I own, actually, if I wasn't so supremely certain I could never approach a manufactured effect, or even close... >sigh<

"gamin guy"
I bought this and another brand 120mm fan. This thing is pretty quiet I have it hooked up to my fan controller an can turn it full blast and I cant hear it at all compared to my grfx card fan. also much quieter than the other 120 I bought at the same time. if your looking for a quiet fan this is it. and decently priced. only thing is how long will it last? Hopefully forever...
