The DISPLPORT10L 10-foot DisplayPort Cable supports a maximum bandwidth of 10.8 Gbps, and is capable of providing higher performance than either HDMI or dual link DVI and supporting next generation multimedia applications with a maximum resolution capability of up to WQXGA (2560×1600). The DisplayPort cable's small, USB-sized latching connectors support two-way display connectivity and optional audio support. Featuring 28 gauge (AWG) pure copper wire, the cable includes Aluminum and Mylar shielding to help eliminate EMI and RFI interference and maintain signal integrity without any degradation of quality. The DISPLPORT10L DisplayPort cable is both HDCP and DPCP capable, ensuring that digitally protected content is displayed properly on the connected display.

Possible incorrect pinout. Feb 09, 2010

I got this cable because the 6ft cable I've got is slightly short for me. I don't want to type a bunch of technical troubleshooting info in this review. So here's the short version: I have reason to believe that the pinout may be wrong on this cable. (Yes, possibly only on the one I received... ) And that it was feeding power back from my monitor into my computer. The previous cable I was using didn't (and doesn't) do this.

Not working on an Asus 5870 HD Feb 20, 2010

My PC does not boot when this cable is inserted in my Asus 5870 HD video card.
However, everything works perfectly when I use my good old trusty DVI cable.
It seems that I an not the only one who has been having problems with this cable.
I highly recommend that you stay away from this product until it get fixed.

Like others have mentioned, the cable seems to send power over pin 20 against the correct standard. My PC will post, but the monitor goes into sleep mode as soon as the OS loads. Very disappointing.

this is not an HDMI cable... it's made for DisplayPorts. You need to use a DisplayPort on your computer, which you might not have because it's a recent addition to the pcs.
It works very well with no issues for me... on a DisplayPort
