STARTECH ANTI-STATIC WRIST STRAP REVIEW Jul 01, 2008
By Jim Fontes I recently changed the ram chip in my desktop and decided I should use a wrist strap. Didn't have one so I ordered the Startech. Like all wrist straps it's a rather simple device: a velcro band, a coiled wire and an alligator clip. The band fit my wrist nicely, the coiled wire was of sufficient length and the clip possesed the necessary spring tension to keep the clip in place. I am satisfied with my purchase, and I recommend it.

Good price, decent product Feb 09, 2009
By IT Pro from IO Good for the price. Feels a little flimsy but I don't use it often (3-4 times per month) so it suits my needs just fine. Strap is a little uncomfortable/rough on skin. Clip has nice strength and doesn't come loose easy. Coiled lead is just the right length and doesn't get in my way while working. All in all a great buy!

Used to Add RAM Apr 27, 2010
By WV Elaine My husband used this anti-static wrist strap in mid 2009 while adding two GB RAM to our Desktop PC. We have had no problems with the RAM or PC. Instructions for use of the wrist-strap can be found on the Internet (RAM upgrade), including from RAM manufacturer Kingston. I don't recall if the product came with instructions.

Not as pictured Jan 24, 2010

What you will get, is an all blue strap. The picture Amazon has shown is incorrect. (I checked other web sites) The coil wire easily stretches, but I would recommend hooking to a wall outlet (ground pin only) extension wire; up to you. The strap does itch a little, but that is the nature of the beast, as this is how the static is discharged (metal contact with your skin).
