2Good for basic use, but not much else.  Apr 08, 2008
By Kevin Bizub
As far as USB mice go, this is about as simple as they come. I got 3 of these off an online sale for literally a penny each, and to that end they do their duty.

The top, black surface of the mouse is slightly grooved, apparently for grip. The mouse is pretty small -- about 4 1/2" in length-- and so it's uncomfortable for someone with big hands like me to use. It's also incredibly light, maybe about an ounce, and so it's difficult to control for someone who's used to a better mouse with a bit more weight to it.

Functionally, the mouse only has the 3 standard buttons and the wheel, which does not support left/right tilt. The buttons take a bit more pressure to press than my main mouse, which isn't to say that it's difficult, but just that it's not suited for anything precise like gaming or design. As a standard optical mouse, you're free of the annoying rubber ball of traditional mice, but you still have the bright annoying red laser on the bottom.

Plug and play was fine on Vista and XP. I've only had to use these mice about 5 times for limited uses, and I had no major problems. Still, for anything other than basic use, you're much better off spending a little bit of money and getting a decent mouse.
