The hinge is great! Mar 06, 2011
By dmw01 This is light years ahead of fixed brackets. Wish I could put a 4.9 rating in.
The only additions I can think of is that the hole in the back is only in the center and the plug from my router (NetGear) is offset to one side so they don't line up. If it wouldn't structurally weaken the bracket it would be nice to have the opening a bit wider across the back somehow (or perhaps 3 openings). I ended up having to get a right angle power cord - which is a pretty simple adjustment. Finger tightening "thumb screws" for the non-hinged side would be nice, too, but really not necessary.

When your home network grows too big Feb 27, 2009
By klin When my home network got too big, I decided to wall mount a Cat6 patch panel and 1gb router (see my other reviews).
This wall mount works fine and has good manufacturer packaging. All the hardware seems to be of decent quality. The hinge comes in handy when I need to punch down a new connection.
7/28/10 Update - Product still performs well.

Hinged patch panel wall mount Dec 09, 2010
By Rick Yeager The hinge is a must!!! Nice product. The hinge is a vast improvement over the fixed brackets I have used in the past.
Good Quality, not very deep Mar 11, 2012
By Mark Parker This patch panel bracket has very good construction and the hinges are useful to have. The only problem I ran into was mounting a 24 port switch with the patch panel as the mount is not that deep and I was barely able to fit that power cable (has to use a 90 degree power cable). 3/5 because with larger gear, this mount would not have worked. Otherwise its good. Just check your device depths prior to ordering.
Good For Patch Panels, Not For Switch Jan 06, 2012
By Sammy_K Pros: Easy to mount to wall Easy to install patch panel wall plates Strong, solid feel
Cons: Not deep enough for my switch
Notes: I got this to house my home networking equipment. I added a TRENDnet 24-port Cat6 Unshielded Patch Panel TC-P24C6 and an empty U1 keystone face plate which I populated with 24 F-Type connectors. These both installed easily and look very nice. Its a little bit of a pain to route 24 RG6 cables and 24 CAT6 cables in the limited space between the face planes and the wall bit its certainly doable.
I wanted to add the D-Link 24-Port Rackmountable Gigabit Switch DGS-1024D but even with the extension plates provided with the switch the switch was too 'deep' to fit in the rack and be plugged in. I ended up opening the switch enclose and modifying the was the power cable plugs into the unit so that the entire cord runs inside rather than the connector sticking out of the back of the unit. This (barely) allowed me to install the switch in the rack mount.
Final Thoughts: Make sure your hardware will fit and this is a great purchase. Highly recommended as long as its deep enough for your hardware and great for patch panels.
