 Worked Well, But A Bit Confusing To Use May 06, 2009

I used this on a couple of Western Digital IDE hard drives in an older computer that had died on me. The instructions were not very clear, but I have messed with computers a bit, so I quickly figured it out. I moved the jumper to the Master/Slave setting, plugged the power in, plugged the USB cord in, and it recognized the first hard drive as another drive in the new computer. I dragged and dropped files from the old drive to the new with no problems. I plugged into the second drive, and ended up unplugging and replugging about three times when it suddenly recognized it. (I had just done several hard drive scans from Device Manager to no avail. The drive was there, but I was not able to access it.) I then copied files from this second drive to the new computer drive. It worked, and I am happy, but wish that instructions had been clearer and that the second drive had not been so hard to recognize. I was disappointed that nowhere on any of the parts was the name Ultra. If it was their product, it bore only generic markings.

Couldn't have been easier. Worked just as described. I was able to save my friends pictures and documents off her HD. Great for the price too! Highly recommended!

Is a bit flimsy, however I think it will hold up...
Packaged well.
For [...] bucks I will get a lot of use storing the tons of video on my "left over" hard drives!!

Thanks to this versatile product from ULTRA, I was able to retrieve all my files from a corrupt laptop hard drive. The instructions were clear and the functionality excellent. Once I had saved the files I wanted to preserve, I was then able to repair the same hard drive via a number of troubleshooting methods. This would not have been possible without such an invaluable tool. If you do any type of hard drive (especially laptop drives) maintenance at all, this is the product for you. Highly recommended!! Easy Quick Connection for HDD Recovery Dec 09, 2009

I needed to recover data from a friend's laptop that the motherboard fried. With this device, it was a snap to extract the data. I didn't even need to take my working computer apart to connect it either as you have the USB option. Also, all of the power and data cables are included. Great product!
