Good value in line with the price Jul 01, 2009

These are an upgrade from the 2x256MB modules that came with my Compaq Presario v2600 series laptop. They went in and function smoothly with no problems booting up, and the laptop is running better. So far so good.
I went with these rather than 2x1Gb modules strictly on the basis of price ($20 each) and the age of the laptop. In other circumstances I'd recommend going with more memory, of course. Your budget mileage may vary.
For whatever reason only 896MB are available according to System Information. That's up from the 384MB it was reading before, so 128MB are getting lost somewhere, which I assume is a function of Microsoft's operating system.
