4I think I got a fluke  Dec 01, 2010
By A Person
So I have had this in my Dell T710 server running server 2008 x64. worked great for 3-4 months then one port died. I have had other SIIG products in the past with no complaints. I think it's a fluke.

so...
-1 star for the port fail
-1 star for waiting on hold for 25+ minutes for SIIG's support (and going... I am waiting as I type this)

I would still recommend this product though

UPDATE: Got replacement from SIIG. Called them up and everything went smoothly. You can do advance replacement (where they send you the card first) but they charge $10 for it (I opted to send it in first).
+1 star for RMA support once I got to them

NOTE: If you have Server 2008 you must change the settings so that eSATA drives will mount automatically. By default it treats eSATA devices like NAS storage units and you have to go to the storage manager to manually make it "Online". AFAIK, this can not be done graphically, it is done on the command line.

5Works Fine with No Fuss  Feb 17, 2012

Installed in custom-built Desktop with Abit AB9 Pro, Intel Q6600 CPU, etc. OS = Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate. This device never showed any signs of any issues at any point in time - it has simply worked from day one. It's now been in use for 2 or 3 years. Cannot speak of performance, as I've noticed no issues, so took no time to fully test. It performs basically as well as most other SATA/eSata ports.. prior to SATA III.
